Isolation valve between meter and backflow device.

This is a great new rule, here is why:

If you have a leak on your backflow device or on the piping between your meter and the backflow device,

you have to shut off the water meter to stop the leak, which will also stop the flow of water to your house.

With an Isolation valve installed, you simply turn it off in the event of a leak and not lose water to your house.
